Wherever I have good internet connection, I have my Local storage ... I can buy music over the air and listen to it on my iPhone... and get it on my iPod Touch.... Don't see why it needs to get more spacy.
Alot of people will enjoy this but personally, I wanna OWN my storage, not subscribe to it... plus listening to music off a drive saves more battery then having your 3G/4G or WiFi pulling to get your music.
Oh and when you having ****** coverage, (back of a grocery store) what happens then to your cloud playlist??

Not really significantly faster than the G5 Quad. Maybe 50% faster at best. As owner of a Quad G5 my motivation would be more about the 6 bays and the FW 800 on the front than the speed. :)

Nice specs on this machine. Exactly what I've been waiting for. I purchased my 1.33GHz G4 iBook one year ago just to get into macs, and see if I liked them. Stellar machine, so I'm looking forward to move up to the big kahuna and play around with things like FCP, etc.
I will likely wait a month or so while the dust settles, and monitor the situation. Nice to see the price drops in displays as well. Everytime I look at the 30" display at the store I cant seem to walk away :)

I dunno, i dont think buying an iPhone is feasible for at least another year. For me at least, just not excited about it at all. First off, it'll be the first ever Apple phone meaning there will be some niggles, also it'll be a candy bar. The only candy bar phone i can tolerate is a smart phone. Some thing tells me the iPhone WON'T be a smartphone from the ground up. It'll be a phone with *some* smart phone abilities.
Also, like most recent rumored products from Apple, its probably been waaay overhyped and will end up being a dissapointment.
Palm shouldn't be so confident though. Apple is the same company that made Michael Dell eat his words.

You don't, you only cut things that don't work and are unsuccessful. Don't feed money into something that isn't working, either fix it or cut it.

This is a long term fix ... quite like our issue with energy. Quick action is less important that intelligent, strategic moves.
Let's take a moment to assess what works and what doesn't. What needs to be cut and what needs to be augmented.
Let's not be lured into thinking that everything needs to be cut equally. It's bad for haircuts. And it's bad for budgets too.

Ownership of data is a concern. If I buy music through the cloud service does that affect my ownership of the music/data? Can I download the music to my hard drive and have unrestricted access to it after I cancel my cloud subscription? At that point, why would I want to continue paying for service for something I already have in my possession. And why not have the option of streaming this data from my own computer on which it's already contained and for which I already pay to have internet bandwidth (I realize that some people may have very limited bandwidth allowance)? If I'm only going to be keeping a small percentage of my audio online then it's one more thing to keep track of and manage. If I keep everything on the cloud then I'm paying a substantial monthly fee that annually could pay for a lot more memory on my device in the first place. Problem solved.

So have you purchased refurbed from Apple previously? I've never done that, but I was wondering what your experience was like.
My TiBook is actually a refurb. I've had no problems at all with it. I've probably had it for about 3 1/2 years now and it still works great. Battery's getting a little wonky but that may be because I use a Sonnet PC card for my Airport Express WLAN (no built in airport card) and I get the impression that this is sucking a lot of power.
I'm looking to update just because I figure with a push in the Intel direction, Leopard would probably be pretty slow on a 867 G4 machine :) Plus, being able to boot camp into windows will allow me some flexibility for doing some work-at-home stuff so I don't have to stay in the office until 10 p.m. So it's not that the refurb TiBook is failing or anything like that, just evolving needs.

I always thought the case was one of the best things about the Mac Pro.
If only Apple would do what tons of people have been whining and screaming and begging Apple for - shove a regular i7 + nice board with some PCIe slots + REGULAR DDR3 in there and sell it as a Mac Sorta Pro.

I don't think that is the point here. Apple, arguably the greatest and most customer-centric company with the world's best smart phone, the best OS and magical appliances (at least, that is what I'm being told here over and over again) collects location data without your prior knowledge or consent. If you become a member of MacRumors it is your own, deliberate, decision. But I already can see where this is going. Cue the drone-like Apple defenders, I hear them coming ;)

So.. if the priorities are Parenthesis, then Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition and lastly Substraction, using your rule:
48/2(9+3)
First whatever is inside the Parenthesis: 9+3=12
48/2(12)
Then Exponent: none
Then Multiplication: 2(12) = 24
Then Division: 48/24 = 2

And for those of you who get 2 by using calculators, any math teacher will tell you that calculators always get the rules of operations wrong. That's why we teach kids pemdas so they know what math to do first and they can use the calculators to help them do the parts of the equation they need help with.

Bogus story because Apple would never fit graphics cards capable of outputting at that res in the iMacs or laptops. Plus I don't think any single monitor can have that resolution that you can buy today?
They currently do... even the Airs can do 1440x700 plus a 2560x1440 Cinema Display. And the 15" MBP and up and all the iMacs have pretty good video cards. You're wrong.

I'm hoping for a new Cinema too, but the DPI on them is as high as it's ever going to get, IMO. There's no need for a higher pixel density on a screen that you see from that distance. The screens in them are already very dense. They're equivalent to the Dell Ultra Sharp, which are over $1000.
The resolution will not be updated, but hopefully the Cinemas will get dual Thunderbolt ports and maybe USB 3.0 and audio through Thunderbolt.

How on earth, in a million years could Apple say the Samsung Honeycomb Tablet is by any stretch of the imagination copying the UI of iOS on the iPad.
Have not all Apple fans been saying how terrible Honeycomb is, in comparison, and more like a complex desktop UI than the simple mobile iOS.
It's just crazy.
As for the physical design? Errrr, a tablet, oblong with a sheet of glass on the front?

You break my heart. Something tells me that this won't be the phone for me. I would put money on it having the one thing I don't want - a camera. I don't want it, I don't need it, and it's a pain to have one.
Although, I was thinking that there would be just a couple of BTO options - maybe a camera and BT - not an entire gamut of BTO possabilities. I agree that too many would be expensive (and the firmware would end up too complicated).
I think I would sold on a camera if and only if it takes >3MP shots & syncs w/ iPhoto... and the phone costs less than $300. :-P
